Summary of the action 

Objectives of the action

Overall objective of the project is to raise the capacities of interested groups to implement the environmentally friendly technologies in integrated pest management systems and organic farming to address the trans-border environmental problems of rural residents from Moldova and Ukraine.

Specific objectives:

  • To identify and implement actions and support mechanisms for creation of trans-border information education system in the field of biological methods in agriculture;
  • To develop training programmes promoting using of environmentally friendly technologies in integrated pest management;
  • To raise awareness and skills on using of biological methods and technologies;
  • To create regional information system/network for raising awareness on use, efficacy and safety for health of environmentally friendly technologies in Integrated pest management systems.

 

Main activities

 

  • Creating information education classes carried out through a mutual collaboration between IGPPP, UkrSRPQS and ETI Biotechnica;
  • Implementing training courses in classes and in field conditions for 90 participants in 6 pilot locations to be held in Moldova and Ukraine;
  • Supporting the implementation of biological methods in rural areas through online counselling activities for the entire duration of the project;
  • Developing regional online information system to support the integrated pest management (IPM) programs through development, implementation and maintenance of useful tools and processes that provide ready access to important information, enhance networking and facilitate effective collaboration across the IPM stakeholder community;
  • Providing online individual consultative assistance to interested persons.
